This place is just too beautiful to believe! It is a big redwood and stone house surrounded by birch and spruce trees, located in Soldotna, on the only lake in town, and it's all private! Centrally located but wooded and quiet... only one mile from Fred Meyer shopping and the Soldotna "Y". See wildlife at your doorstep, and know why everyone loves Alaska so much. We're easy to find at Mile 93 Sterling Highway.
(Take a Look at Maps!)
You'll be located in the middle of the gorgeous Kenai Peninsula, the dream of every red-blooded American. Drive 70 miles South to Homer, 90 miles East to Seward, or just a mile to the best king salmon fishing in the world! Kenai is only ten minutes away, Ninilchik, famous for halibut fishing charters is half an hour, and Clam Gulch for great clam digging is less than that.
Enjoy boating on the lake, the lakeside evening firepit bonfire, or even volleyball and croquet for those who aren't too tired to move from all the fun they've had. Don't forget the sun shines nearly all night, so everyone has a lot of energy in the summertime. For those who are exhausted but and want to unwind, you can relax in the upstairs sauna.
Our favorite activities here are hiking and canoeing the fabulous local trails, sea kayaking across Kachemak Bay, or golfing at our lovely local courses. Most people don't even know that Seward has incredible sailing on Resurrection Bay, where the prevailing winds move out during the day and back in the evening.
No wonder this is paradise! ("Click" to see fishing and activity photos)
But don't let yourself be limited to visiting in the summer, ask about availability for winter sports like cross-country skiing on the great local trails, snow machining in the nearby Caribou Hills, ice fishing, or snowshoeing activities. You won't be sorry, and will take home the memories of a lifetime!
