Loren Lake Bed and Breakfast
You could be here...
Loren Lake is named after Kristin's father, Loren Heath, who was one of the early homesteaders of the Soldotna area. The Heaths came to Alaska in April, 1952, soon after World War II, when veterans were able to obtain land classified as agricultural by building a home, living on the land and clearing and harvesting crops. It wasn't until 1956 when oil was discovered on the Kenai Peninsula and the big boom began. Life changed rapidly for those hardy pioneers who settled the area, and through the years the community has evolved to what you can see today: a modern city with all the conveniences you could want.
This beautiful home is located on the original Heath homestead, but it was designed and built by Kristin in 1982 to raise her children, who are all now grown and gone. Kristin is happy to share her private retreat with guests, who can come to appreciate the incredible Alaskan majesty that has been her home for over 50 years.
